The Globalair Summer League continued with Krishna C.C playing Overseas C.C. Overseas needing to win to keep their challenge for the summer league alive.

Overseas won the toss and elected to bowl first. John Grima and Nowell Khosla opened the batting for Krishna. Overseas had a bad fielding day where they dropped five catches. One of these chances was in the first over which Grima edged the ball and even though the slips fielder made a great effort getting his hand to the ball, the ball went to ground. Grima went on to top score with 71 runs not out from 55 balls faced including six fours. Khosla scored 19 runs from 19 balls. Nadeem Ashraf was on fire scoring 22 runs from 17 balls and Sam Dhandapani also impressed with 27 runs from 22 balls faced.

Dhandapani was caught with the catch of the day (even though the Overseas had a bad day in the catching department).

Dimon Niel took the team lifting catch; unfortunately it came in the 20th over. Bowling 18 wides did not help their cause either. Krishna totalled 158 runs from their allotted overs. Three bowlers took a wicket each for Overseas.

The run chase began slowly for Overseas with the Krishna bowlers bowling very well. Kevin Krishna, in particular, took figures of four wickets for 25 runs from four overs bowled.

Sam Dhandapani took two wickets and two juniors Sanjay Dhandapani and Adrian both took a wicket each. For Overseas Kieth Abernathy top scored with 27 runs from 17 balls faced including two fours and a six. Dave Newton scored 26 runs, Mike Smith 14 runs and Phil Gibbs nine runs.

Overseas were bowled out for 101 runs and did not earn any points. Krishna earned nine points for the win and are now on top with 28 points followed by Marsa 25 points, Overseas 14 points and Melita 0 points.

Krishna and Overseas have only one game each remaining while Marsa have two.
