August Moon Ball On 4 August

Malta Independent Saturday, 14 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

President Edward Fenech Adami yesterday launched the traditional August Moon Ball, to be held on the evening of Saturday 4 August at Verdala Palace.

The President urged members of the public to attend this annual event, the proceeds of which go entirely to the Malta Community Chest Fund. People who are in need, patients who require very expensive medicines and relatives who accompany patients who have to go abroad for specialised treatment need our support. The published financial accounts show that the MCCF distributes around half a million liri annually and this money is collected through the various activities that are organised by the MCCF throughout the year.

Those attending the Ball will be able to see the progress achieved in the restoration of the Paladini paintings in the main hall of Verdala Palace.

Tickets for the Ball, costing Lm20 (EUR46.59) each, are available at the offices of the Malta Community Chest Fund, The Palace, Valletta. Dress is black tie.
