No one was injured when shots were fired in Bishop Labini Street, Birkirkara yesterday afternoon, according to the police. Preliminary investigations showed that an argument broke out between three men, one from St Venera, one from Birkirkara and the other from Gzira.
The police said that at one point, the man from St Venera allegedly fired a number of shots and fled from the scene with the man from Birkirkara.
The two men have since been located by the police and are being held for questioning.
Duty Magistrate Dr A. Demicoli, who was informed about the case, appointed various experts to help in the inquiry.
Police investigations are still under way.
