BOV Premier League top-scorer Daniel Bogdanovich is on trial with English Championship side Stoke City. Bogdanovich spear-headed Marsaxlokk’s run towards their first league title last season but is now a free agent.

He has been trying to clinch a move to a foreign club and has already had trials with English clubs Watford and Crystal Palace, and Sk Brann of Norway.

Sources in England say that at the moment the Potters are thought to have at least four unnamed players for a trial at the club this week as Tony Pulis continues to seek reinforcements ahead of the new season.

City have so far signed just Jon Parkin, although star midfielder John Eustace and back-up goalkeeper Russell Hoult have signed new contracts for the forthcoming season.

Pulis is still hoping to sign a number of last season’s loan stars including Salif Diao, Andy Griffin and Jonathan Fortune but the City boss is frustrated with the big wages these players are asking for and is on the lookout for a bargain.

Stoke are likely to give Bogdanovich a runout in tomorrow’s pre-season friendly at Newcastle Town.
