Andrej Vujicic lives with his wife Francesca Grima between Seville and Malta, performing with their company Puerto Flamenco as well as touring internationally and collaborating with numerous flamenco artists such as Lole Montoya, Familia Montoya, Maria Serrano and Eduardo Trassierra. He is the co-producer and percussionist of two events this summer in Malta, namely the Puerto Flamenco, taking place on 27 and 28 July at the Palace Courtyard in Valletta, and the all new long-awaited Etnikafé07 Karavan Petlor on 10, 11 and 12 August, at the Royal Opera House in Valletta, as part of the Malta Arts Festival, supported by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, The Ministry for Tourism and Culture, the Spanish Embassy and Torres.

What would you like to be doing in 10 years’ time?
Looking back on my life now and thinking, “that was brilliant!”
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Sounds weird when you write it down. It's this feeling I get on stage when I'm all goose bumps. Happens when all is one. I think it’s contagious.
What is your favourite occupation?
In summer I just love to play in small sea puddles. I try to befriend the crabs. Wish I had more time for it.
Significant other?
Cikka (Francesca Grima) is just the best person I've ever met. She is such fun, extremely noble, an amazing artist, totally giving, wondrously wise, the list goes on and on. I always say, I must have saved a bus-full of school children in my previous life to deserve her!
What is your greatest fear?
That within 10, 20 years this world will be consumed by greed.
What is it that you most value in your friends?
Naturalness.
How would you like to die?
Not thinking: “Man I wish I had done it differently!”
What is your greatest extravagance?
I'm really not extravagant at all. Could that in itself be an extravagance?
What is your greatest regret?
Sometimes I blow up and hurt people. I am sorry people; I'm trying to work on it.
What is your most treasured possession?
I guess it is my Cajon. I am travelling the world on it and it provides me with a miraculous lifestyle. It’s like a magic box, I am very grateful to it.
Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?
I'd love to sing like a lone cricket on a starry summer's night.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Egocentric spasms, cause of all problems in the world.
Where would you like to live?
Seville is amazing and really feels like home now, we get to travel a lot too, and spend a few months in Malta in summer, which is great. Would like to spend some time in Japan at some point.
What is your most marked characteristic?
I think I know it all. I even now think I know that I know it all!
Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?
I really look up to people who selflessly dedicate their life helping and concerned with others. I feel it is something I am not doing, and would like to change that.
What is it that you most dislike?
Waste.
