An Msida man was arraigned on Saturday and charged with the attempted murder of another man after a fight broke out between them and a third man in Birkirkara on Friday afternoon.

Before presiding magistrate Miriam Hayman, Noel Farrugia, 28, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring the man after he fired shots in his direction in Triq l-Isqof Labini, Birkirkara.

He was also charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm, threatening the alleged victim over the past few months and relapsing.

The accused was denied bail and remanded in custody.
