The Malta Tourism Authority’s Product Planning Directorate is organising a morning of activities and opening the Blue Flag Environment Information Centre, at St George’s Bay in St Julian’s on Saturday. The opening will be performed by Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.

Activities start at 8.45am and will include clean up activities, a clean up of the seabed by divers and waste separation coordination for better management. There will be a light display by the OPRM oil pollution unit of Nature Trust, an information stand by the 34U tree planting campaign, and a talk by Dr Joseph A. Borg on environmental issues.

Members of the public are invited to attend and take part. The event is being held to highlight the way forward with Blue Flag Beaches and to provide information on environmental issues.

The beach at St George’s Bay is managed by the Malta Tourism Authority.
