A day before the expected debate on Minister Jesmond Mugliett’s handling of the ADT issue regarding two employees who were found guilty by the court but asked for a presidential pardon, Minister Mugliett yesterday passed, confidentially, the name of the first ADT employee who had been found guilty but had received a presidential pardon.

He was replying to a question from Labour MP Charles Buhagiar.

The minister said that on the advice of the Public Service Commission, the person who had been found guilty by the Court and as a result was interdicted, had been transferred to another section at ADT where this person does not come in contact with cash. Subsequently, this same person had been transferred to a government department.

This person, the minister added, had been found guilty of fraud.

Foreign pilots resign

The number of foreign pilots who had been recruited by Air Malta for its UK operations but have since resigned amounted to 19 from beginning of 2006 up to today, Investments Minister Austin Gatt told Labour MP Leo Brincat.
