The second edition of the BOV Streets Alive is scheduled to kick off this evening, ushering a series of six consecutive Fridays during which the streets of the capital city will come to life with various cultural events and live performances.

BOV Streets Alive is an initiative of the Valletta Alive Foundation and Bank of Valletta. Valletta Kreattiva is the theme of the first evening of BOV Streets Alive activities (today). An Artists and Artisans Exhibition along with demonstrations by YMCA will be held at St George’s Square in front of the President’s Palace. Artists will also be painting on site. Modern Dance will be choreographed by YADA Dance Company at Casino Maltese, whilst Faux Theatre will be performing a number of sketches inspired by well-known literary writings at the foyer of the National Library.

The Versatile Brass Ensemble will be the closing act of ‘Valletta Kreattiva’ with a concert in Great Siege Square, opposite the law courts. Hailed as one of the top brass bands on the island and boasting a repertoire that ranges from classical to pop, jazz, swing and latin, their innovative approach to music promises to take the viewer on a unique experience to discover the authentic brass.

Themed guided tours will be taking visitors on a trip around the capital to rediscover its rich legacy. The more adventurous may choose to participate in treasure hunts. The rendezvous for both the tours and the treasure hunts will be City Gate. Visitors will also be able to benefit from discounted karozzin rides or stop at one of the restaurants that will be serving customers outdoors in Republic Street. They will be able to refresh themselves while admiring the artists who will set up shop along the streets of Valletta.
