Daphne has done it again! In her attempts to criticise Josie Muscat and Joseph Sammut, she felt the need to include sarcastic, not to say denigrating, comments about Maltese women who she thinks are not educated as much as men.

May I inform your culture columnist that I am one of the many women in the age bracket she mentions who has continued to work after having children, and who is an avid follower of what goes on around me because I take an interest.

But my interest is not warped with the idea that nobody is better than I am and neither do I think that, since I am well-educated, I can impose my opinion on others, as Daphne normally tries to do.

She is, of course, entitled to her own opinion. But it does not mean that what she says is always right and that we should all follow in her footsteps. Being cultured means that one should respect other people’s ideas and thoughts and, I am afraid, there have been several times when Daphne showed that she did not.
