The popular Peruvian folk band Sayary will be performing live at Bay Street today and tomorrow.

The Sayary Peruvian folk band was created in Malta eight years ago. The lead members of the band are Fernando Benito, who is also a music teacher in the school of music Johan Strauss and a music student at the University of Malta, on guitar and vocals; and Nolasco Ccapa, a sound engineering student, on wind instruments (sicu, quena, effects, and strings).

The music that the band performs is mainly Latin folk, and international music, using the traditional instruments from South America – sicu, quenas, charango, and others – as well as the accordion which gives a special sound to the music they perform.

Sayary’s performances at the Rotunda in Bay Street, St Julian’s start at 7.30 p.m.
