VISET Malta Appoints new chairman

VISET Malta plc has announced the appointment of Joseph Zammit Tabona as non-executive chairman, with effect from 2 July, 2007. He succeeds Joseph Grioli. Mr Zammit Tabona will assume the chairmanship of the company with particular responsibility for board matters and corporate governance.

He brings to his role extensive experience and his active involvement in both the public and private sectors in recent years have enabled him to develop a deeper understanding of the needs of all sectors of local industry. In January 2006 he was appointed by the government as chairman of the Malta Stock Exchange and as chairman of FinanceMalta in May 2007. He is also chairman of the Malta Accountancy Board.

Mr Zammit Tabona served as president of the Malta Federation of Industry between 1990 and 1992 and, between 2000 and 2003, represented the FOI on the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development, the Malta External Trade Corporation, the Malta Development Corporation and the Institute for the Promotion of Small Enterprise.
