Explore Grand Harbour On a dghajsa

Malta Independent Sunday, 22 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

A new ‘audio adventure’ boat trip round Grand Harbour has been launched offering people the chance to discover one of the world’s most magnificent natural harbours in an entirely new way.

This new service, for both Maltese and tourists costs EUR15 for 45 minutes, combines ancient tradition with modern technology – passengers sail round the harbour on dghajjes while listening to a state-of-the-art audio guide.

Operated by Explore Malta Limited, the boats leave from Valletta Waterfront and travel round the harbour taking in the sights of Valletta, the Siege Bell, the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Fort Ricasoli, Fort Sant Angelo as well as the Three Cities.

Thanks to the specialised “Espro” audio guides, passengers on the traditional water-taxis can listen to the commentary in any one of six languages – Maltese, English, Italian, French, Spanish and German.
