First Outpatient services at Mater Dei as from next week

Malta Independent Sunday, 22 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Mater Dei Hospital will offer its first services to patients in the coming days, starting next week [ie Monday 30th]

These services will be in four areas: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology and Parentcraft.

The clinical and non-clinical areas in Mater Dei housing these services will be handed over to the Mater Dei management (from FMS) early this week.

The migration process started on Thursday with the first phase seeing the management and administrative offices move from St Luke’s to Mater Dei. About another 100 staff (managerial and administrative) are now reporting for work at Mater Dei Hospital instead of St Luke’s Hospital.

Sources close to Mater Dei said that a number of days were gained on the migration of the management offices, which took place over a shorter timeframe than originally planned.

It is reported that the 100 staff who are now working at Mater Dei feel very positive about the move.
