It is estimated that in the not too distant future, the interest rates of banks is going to be raised sky high. This is wonderful for those who have bank deposits but pretty rotten for those who have gigantic loans to pay off for having bought a roof over their heads. These people are going to be “government victims” because the amount repaid on the loan depends on the rate of interest. There is no question of who is going to suffer most. The young ones, whose sacrifices have to be tripled because of this darkness. Our capitalist system does not care a hoot from a humane point of view for those couples who have planned to adjust themselves to the circumstances that is going to leave a massive hole in their pockets because of these conditions. The days of the Lohombus have long since gone and in future, more and more couples are going to find themselves out of a job. The days of wine, roses and government plots terminated a while back. Our capitalist government has financially crucified those who pine to have their own houses and flats. Today, no hard-working youngster can afford those sinful rents some tenants are asking for. How indecent for some of them to ask for Lm130, Lm140 or even more a month?

Now that the election is not far off, it would be no surprise if we hear wild stories about fantastic projects of plots of flats and houses as a ploy for the Nationalist Party voting game.

The Nationalist Party think people are dim-witted enough to believe that what has never happened during these last four years can magically happen in the last year.

Fools are they, with the brains of a chicken, who believe one sentence they utter.
