On Saturday the Globalair Summer League continued with Marsa C.C playing Overseas C.C.

Marsa won the toss and elected to field first.

Grant Williams and Adrian Collyer opened the batting for the Overseas.

Collyer was first to go out, L.B.W to a Colin Willis delivery managing only five runs.

Dave Newton was in next and was another victim of Willis only managing two runs.

Mike Smith joined Williams at the crease and a solid partnership was made until Smith was caught for thirty six runs.

Williams went on to make sixty one runs, including five fours and one six, before being stumped.

After that Phil Gibbs was the only batsman to make it to double figures ending on twelve runs not out.

Seventeen extras helped the Overseas total to 146 runs from their allotted twenty overs.

For Marsa Mike Caruana and Ronnie Sacco were the main wicket takers with three wickets each.

Marsa’s reply started well losing the first wicket when the score was at forty three runs.

Robert Krishna was first to go making twenty five runs,

Javed Shah was next in and made twenty four runs from fifteen balls faced including four fours.

Ronnie Sacco joined Mike Caruana who had been there from the start of the innings and the pair saw the Marsa team to victory with one ball to spare.

Sacco made twenty three runs not out while Caruana made fifty nine runs not out.

Marsa earned eight points from the win and now head the ladder with 33 points, second are Krishna with 28 points , Overseas third with 15 points (1 point from this game) and Melita have no points.

Next Saturday will see Marsa C.C and Krishna C.C play in the last game of the season. The team who wins will most likely be taking home the Globalair Summer trophy.
