Two Libyan men and one Tunisian man were yesterday granted bail after all three pleaded not guilty to threatening and resisting police officers early yesterday morning.

The two Libyans – 20-year-old Massoud Musbah and 23-year-old Mahmud Mohamed – and Tunisian Ziyad Fathali, 25, all pleaded not guilty to threatening several police officers between 1am and 4pm on Monday morning in Qawra and in the Qawra police station.

They also pleaded not guilty, before magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna, to resisting police officers and disobeying police orders.

The three men also pleaded not guilty to breaching public peace, using vulgar language in public and refusing to give their particulars to the police.

Magistrate Apap Bologna granted the three men bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police inspector Paul Bond prosecuted and Dr Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for the three men.
