The Water Services Corporation is taking remedial action to eliminate a drainage overflow in Mgarr, Gozo sea front.

The blockage in question arose when a road-building contractor caused a manhole cover and material to collapse into the deep sewer system.

Sea front works are complicated because the blockage in question is some 20 metres below road-level, entailing the use of special procedures, equipment and health and safety measures.
