A 34-year-old Egyptian man was placed on probation for two years after he pleaded guilty to a number of thefts from a restaurant amounting to around Lm3,000.
Appearing before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Ihab El Kanouni pleaded guilty to stealing around Lm3,000 worth of items from a restaurant in Naxxar, on 12 May 2001 and before, to the detriment of Joseph Magro.
Following Kanouni’s guilty plea, magistrate Scerri Herrera placed him on probation for two years.
Police inspectors Simon Galea and Angelo Caruana prosecuted, while Dr Franco Debono appeared for Kanouni.
