Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has been presented with a copy of the book MCQs in Clinical Pharmacy, edited by Lilian M. Azzopardi, Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Malta.

The book is published by the Pharmaceutical Press of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and includes contributions by Anthony Serracino-Inglott and Maurice Zarb Adami from the University of Malta, Steve Hudson from the University of Strathclyde and Sam Salek from the University of Cardiff.

The book draws on experiences in teaching and practice in Malta and extends this practice as a standard to pharmacists in the United Kingdom and in other countries.

The uniqueness of the publication lies in the fact that the authors were able to produce a book that presents problems taken from contemporary clinical practice.

It encourages candidates to acquire the skills that are needed to tackle clinical pharmacy practice issues effectively. The examples feature real-patient cases and provide the opportunity to simulate actual practice where multiple problems are presented.

The book was launched last week at an event hosted by British High Commissioner Nick Archer, who was very enthusiastic about the publication which, he said, was an example of the closeness between professionals in health education in Malta and the United Kingdom.
