Hibernians young star Udo Nwoko will be playing for Portuguese club Leixoes in the forthcoming season.
He has accepted a good offer from the newly-promoted Portuguese club which is situated just outside Oporto, Portugal’s second city after Lisbon.
The young Nigerian attacking midfielder, who was born in Lagos in 1984, also had offers from another Portuguese club, Leiria, but he preferred to join Leixoes in the knowledge that he will be given a much better opportunity to play among their ranks.
Nwoko made his name in Malta as a Hibernians player in seasons 2002/2003 and 2003/2004. In the following two seasons he was transferred on loan to Gozo’s Xewkija Tigers. On his return in season 2005/2006, Nwoko plied his trade with Mosta FC, before he joined champions Marsaxlokk last season.
