The MFA Executive Committee last Wednesday decided to refund clubs who have played in the European Club competitions.

Amounts which had been paid by UEFA to the MFA to cover the expenses for referees in Champions League, Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup matches had somehow failed to arrive in the local clubs’ coffers. Moreover, the clubs had also been charged the same amount as if they had to pay for the officials’ expenses.

It is known that UEFA always paid the amount of around 8,000 Swiss francs per club each year during the past 10 years or so.

That amount, minus the expenses involved, is now being refunded to the clubs, though these are expecting to be paid interest related to the amounts.
