A man was yesterday conditionally discharged for two years after he was found guilty of assaulting a security officer at the Floriana Health Centre during a row after he was given a transfer.
Giuseppe Spiteri, 45, from Zejtun, was found guilty of assaulting Wayne Martin Decelis and damaging weighing scales at the health centre.
The court heard that the incident took place when Spiteri was given a transfer from one workplace to another. Spiteri was not happy about the situation and despite this order, he still reported for work at the health centre but Mr Decelis, the security guard, did not allow him to enter.
Handing down her judgement, Magistrate Edwina Grima conditionally discharged Spiteri for two years.
Dr Owen Bonnici appeared for Spiteri.
