A 71-year-old woman from Fgura was injured after she was involved in a traffic accident at around 5.30pm in Marsascala on Sunday.

Police reports said that the woman was hit by a car driven by a 28-year-old man from Cospicua.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old French youth injured his back after he dived off a high rock in Comino and landed on the rocks.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site and an Armed Forced of Malta helicopter was dispatched to take the youth to hospital.

The youth was found to be suffering from slight injuries and is not in critical condition.
