For the first time ever, the Mqabba St Mary Fireworks Association will be entertaining an audience overseas, as they will be participating in the internationally acclaimed fireworks competition in Italy, Caput Lucis (City of Lights).
The increasingly popular festival, which is held in an area covering 80,000 square metres in Valmontone, in the province of Rome, is expected to attract about 300,000
people.
The Mqabba St Mary Fireworks Association will be one of eight celebrated fireworks associations from different countries – Japan, Italy, England, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and China – that were chosen as a result of the fact that they are among the best in the world.
The international festival kicks starts today, with the Mqabba Fireworks Associa-tion presenting its show tomorrow. The festival ends on Sunday.
