Forty-year-old Dr Peter Fenech, a partner at the Valletta-based law firm Ganado Sammut, and chairman of various entities, including Melita Insurance Brokers Ltd, Mediterranean Conference Centre and the Manoel Theatre, is also involved in several consultancy and research projects dealing with European affairs.
He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta, European Documentation and Research Centre, as well as being active in the European Consultancy Department which deals with Malta’s relations with membership of the EU.
His involvement in sport has been conspicuous through the drafting of various bills, notably the Sports Law and the anti-doping regulations in conformity with those of WADA.
Dr Fenech’s interest in football, has been evident for a number of years now as he has been a member of various committees, including MFA Boards.
He is married to Roberta nee Messina and has two sons, Luigi and Matteo, and two daughters, Elena and Carla.
It was the first time Dr Fenech contested for the post of vice-president of the MFA.
