Fringe! Productions present the Summer Bridge Bar Sessions and a new two-day jazz event, Jazz Fringe! which will form part of the Summer Arts Festival 2007. After the success of its first jazz showcase late last December at the MITP in Valletta, this summer will host a series of jazz sessions culminating in the concerts to be held at the Palace courtyard Valletta on the 17, 18 August.

This summer season will kick off with the Bridge Bar Sessions, featuring local and foreign musicians every Friday at the Bridge Bar, Victoria Gate, Valletta. Running up to 14 September, the venue provides the perfect setting for musicians and audience. This year's sessions will include a number of European guest musicians, including Paris-based Lionel Boccara and Christophe Panzani, both prominent musicians on the city circuit, the latter having also worked with the famed Carla Bley. The Bridge sessions aim to expose local audiences to the diversity of jazz, keeping its audiences interested through exposing a variety of styles and musicians, on the steps of the city at Victoria Gate.

The peak of this event will be Jazz Fringe and will provide a new and exciting event for all jazz aficionados and music lovers. The music featured in this two-day event represents the diversity and eclecticism present in jazz music nowadays by presenting a variety of acts ranging from the purist to the more dancy, electro-jazz. The performers, hailing from various parts of the globe are award-winning musicians active locally and on the Parisian jazz circuit creating some of the most cutting-edge music within the genre. Jazz Fringe! is a must see for all music and jazz lovers. Included in the festival line up are Sandro Zerafa's White Russian Quintet, Dominic Galea & Co., Synapse Trio and the Julien Daian Quintet featuring DJ Borz.
