The national cricket team flies to Belgium on 18August to compete in the 2007 ECC Trophy. This competition open to all European affiliated countries of the international cricket council, is being held biennially under the auspices of ECC.

There are 8 countries competing this year, Malta has been drawn in the preliminary group B together with host Belgium, Cyprus and Isle of Man.

Group A consist of Spain, Croatia, Finland and Portugal.

Michael Caruana will be leading a strong 14-man squad for this tournament along with the officials Dr Sarfraz Ali as the team Manager, Dr Mark Sacco – Physio and John Farrugia – Scorer.

The national team is looking forward to do well and qualify for Division 2.
