Two international players of the Central African Republic (CAF) are expected to arrive tomorrow to join Birkirkara FC for a trial.

The Stripes have not yet made a decision over their three foreigners for the coming season, but it seems that Bulgarian Emil Yantchev will definitely be one of them, especially after his very good performance against Valletta in last Friday’s friendly which the Stripes won 1-0.

Birkirkara also have a Danish central defender who seems to be doing well, as well as a Bulgarian striker, Drashkov, who also scored their winner against Valletta last Friday.

Now club chairman Victor Zammit confirmed to The Malta Independent that these two Central African players will be coming over, as well as a Brazilian striker, all of them eager to make an impact with regards to final selection with John Buttigieg’s squad.

Zammit said that one of them, Marceline Temboulas, who is an offensive midfielder, played in the Gabon first league where he was selected as Best Player in the last two years. The other is Boris Sandjo, who is a pure striker. Nothing is yet known about the Brazilian striker.

The Stripes chairman also said that their drive to sign new players has not yet ended. “In fact we are still interested in a striker and we are also hoping to give former Valletta and Gozo utility player Chris Camilleri a contract,” he added.
