The Armed Forces of Malta Band, under the direction of Lt John Ivan Borg, gave a concert to a considerable audience at Qalb ta’ Gesù square in St Vincent de Paul home for the elderly, organised by the Secretariat for the Elderly and Care in the Community.

The 42 bandsmen played pieces by, among others, Morricone, Osser, Kolasch and Captain Anthony Chircop.

The concert – for home residents, residents of other homes for the elderly, and others – followed another last month which consisted of performances by, among others, soprano Frances Catherine Farrugia, mezzo soprano Alexandra Scicluna and pianist Roberto Debono.

The secretariat is planning another activity for September.
