Valletta are negotiating with Italian giants Juventus over a possible visit to Malta by the Bianconeri later this year.

Juventus are back in the Serie A this season and new coach Claudio Ranieri believes that his side will be capable of challenging for the title immediately. The side had been relegated to Serie B after the Calciopoli scandal the previous season.

Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha yesterday confirmed to The Malta Independent that negotiations had already started.

“We are still a long way off. We do not yet know the date, but the first moves have already been made. We wish to bring them over at Christmas time, but it all depends on the fixtures they will have at that time of the year, not excluding the players’ holidays,” he said.

Early this year, it was Milan who came over to Malta for a training camp which lasted one whole week. It had ended with a friendly match against the organisers of their tour, Birkirkara FC.
