Education Minister Louis Galea yesterday visited the Skolasajf centre in Floriana where a number of special activities were being held to celebrate and create awareness about Animal Welfare Day.
Around 3,800 boys and girls from independent, Church and government schools participated in Skolasajf this year.
Furthermore, there are 300 university students that are following education-related courses and another 130 heads and assistant heads of school as coordinators in the Skolasajf centres.
Various NGOs participated in yesterday’s activities by visiting different centres around the island, passing on the message that animals should be cherished and loved through practical educational sessions with the children.
