The Employment and Training Corporation has just launched a Personal Action Plan manual for persons who are currently looking for a job.

The Personal Action Plan is a guide which is given to every individual registering for employment and which helps these persons in their job search. This manual details the steps that a person should take for a successful job search. This guide helps to make job seekers aware of their skills, qualifications and experiences. It also helps them to keep record of what they do to find work.

The action plan guides them in work ethics, job searching, compiling their curriculum vitae, applying for relevant vacant posts, interview tactics and employers’ expectations during interviews.

The Personal Action Plan also provides the contact details of local private employment agencies which can be contacted by these people for information about current vacant posts which meet their qualifications and experience. Part of this manual discusses the importance of lifelong learning and training.
