Travel to Malta from Birmingham registered a 142.6 per cent increase during July, Birmingham airport said.
Birmingham International Airport handled 963,564 passengers during July, including 636,087 scheduled and 327,477 charters, an increase of 0.8 per cent over the previous year.
Scheduled routes that experienced growth in July included Palma (+154.7 per cent), Aberdeen (+151.6 per cent), Hanover (+85.3 per cent), and others.
Charter traffic which experienced growth included Malta (+142.6 per cent), Egypt (+14.4 per cent), France (+10 per cent), Germany (+8.9 per cent), Turkey (+7.8 per cent), Greece (+6.5 per cent), Mexico (+3.7 per cent) and Tunisia (+2.1 per cent).
