Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services has recently renewed its agreement with New Star International to represent New Star Global Investment Funds in Malta.
The agreement has been automatically renewed and extended until May 2013. This was announced by Jesmond Mizzi, chairman of JMFS, following his return from the UK where he was presented with the agreement by Cobus Kruger, New Star International Director, Mutual Funds.
JMFS Ltd was set up in September 2002 and issued a Category 2 licence by the Malta Financial Services Authority to provide investment services. JMFS seeks to provide personal and thorough services to its clients and, although a relatively young company, its executive directors have many years of experience in the financial services field.
In 2003, Malta was one of the first countries where New Star put a distribution agreement in place. This distribution agreement with Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services and the extended agreement indicate that both companies have total confidence in each other.
New Star is a broadly diversified and well-capitalised investment management company. New Star has been a real success story, which is demonstrated by the pace with which it has gathered assets. New Star is quoted on the London Stock Exchange and has received many awards since its launch. The most significant is New Star being named overall winner of Citywire Team All Stars Award three years running (2004, 2005 and 2006).
New Star currently holds EUR36.7 billion assets under management (as at 30 June 2007), which have grown from a starting point of $1 billion since the company was founded in June 2000. One the significant factors that distinguishes New Star from other investment companies is that all permanent staff are share or option holders.
