A long-awaited decision was finally taken last week and the runway at Lamezia Terme in Italy will be lengthened by 600 metres, thus enabling the landing and takeoff of planes such as the bigger Boeings and Airbuses.
Among the flights the airport’s authorities are deeply interested in having are those to Malta, as well as Ryanair flights to Bergamo and Pisa, Air Berlin to Germany, Paris and Romania.
