Web address www.gibraltar.com has been sold in an on-line auction for $360,000, according to The Gibraltar Chronicle.
On-line auction house Sedo said it was a high price to pay for such a name, with www.malta.com selling for only $250,000 last year and www.uruguay.com going for $175,000.
The Gibraltar website is currently just a list of island links, but no one knows what the new owner has planned.
