I admit that all in all I enjoyed my flights to and from Paris very much recently; they were two pleasant flights I must say

However, I was most disgusted when on arriving at Malta on Wednesday 8 August the welcome message said “...nilqghukhom gewwa Malta, or enjoy your stay gewwa Malta, can’t be sure which, if not both. It is true we were inside the aircraft but definitely not inside Malta. The airport has probably the most open, outside space in Malta.

It is very annoying that even in such big companies there is no one to correct this banal mistake. This cursed word ‘gewwa’ seems to haunt everybody and is heard everywhere even in the highest and most respectable places; the Law Courts, Parliament, everywhere. Everyone utters it, high and low. Schooled or not, everyone and everywhere; incredible but true.

I never ever heard anyone decent say “welcome inside England, Paris, Germany or wherever. It is only us who seem to have no idea, and no one to instruct us, how to use this most commonly used word correctly.

Let’s hope that on my next flight the welcoming message will be much more professional As for the rest keep up the good work and don’t ruin everything by making such silly mistakes.
