Football: National Squads leave today for training camp in Czech Republic

While the one-week training stints will be very useful build-ups at this early stage of the season, the friendly matches will help both coaches assess the levels of their squads prior to their competitive engagements in September.

Seniors squad

The national team squad consists of the following players:

Goalkeepers: Omar Borg, Mario Muscat, Andrew Hogg.

Defenders: Brian Said, Steve Wellman, Aaron Xuereb, Ian Azzopardi, Roderick Briffa, Kenneth Scicluna, Josef Mifsud.

Midfielders: Gilbert Agius, George Mallia, Jamie Pace, Roderick Bajada, Peter Pullicino, Cleavon Frendo.

Strikers: Ivan Woods, Andrew Cohen, Terence Scerri, Etienne Barbara.

Staff

Ivan Vella - Team Manager, Dusan Fitzel - National Coach, Oliver Spiteri - Assistant Coach, Roger Camilleri - Goalkeepers' Coach, Dr. David Attard - Team Doctor, Joseph St. John - Physiotherapist, Anthony Gambin - Masseur, Donald Spiteri - Masseur, Carmelo Gauci - Kit Manager.

Under 21 squad

Goalkeepers: Miguel Montfort, Henry Bonello, Luke Woods.

Andre' Agius will meet the team on Sunday 19 August in Portugal.
