The historic Banca Giuratale provided an exciting backdrop for Paul Haber’s exotic ceramics during the inauguration of an exhibition of his latest works Fired Imagination, by the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Anton Tabone.
The evening was a great success and was very well attended by Gozitans, foreign residents in Gozo and Maltese residents who crossed the channel to witness another beautiful display of Haber’s ceramics. The works of art are very distinct from one another, although all boast of the artist’s same style and skill.
‘Had Paul Haber came from Paris, Prague, London, Florence or Vienna, capitals with such a great history of long established art schools, his stature as an artist would have been expected, but coming from a small island of 400,000 people, Paul Haber is a phenomenon’, said a visibly proud Dr Tabone.
The Head of the Cultural Council, Kevin Sciberras welcomed visitors and spoke of the honour to host this exhibition in the chain of regular displays being currently held in Gozo. Joyce Guillaumier hosted the exhibition and introduced the artist and the speakers.
The exhibition runs until August 31.
Fifty of Haber’s works will be exhibited in a prestigious one-man display in the Council of Europe’s foyer in Strasbourg. This exhibition will be inaugurated on the 4th of September.
