After the very successful Under 16 International Tennis tournament held four weeks ago and followed two weeks later by the "Wilson Junior Open Tournament" for local boys and girls of different age groups, Tennis Club Kordin will now hold the "U14" International Open Tennis Tournament in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation.

This tournament, sponsored by Simonds, Farson, Cisk through their product "San Michel Table Water" will start on Saturday18th August with the qualifying rounds and, comes to an end the following Saturday with the finals of both Boys and Girls.

Participation for this year's tournament is an all time record. Hundred and seven competitors, 68 Boys and 39 Girls, coming from 25 different nationalities, will be taking part. Twelve Maltese Boys and seven Girls have enrolled to participate.

Blehman Nick of Germany ranked 135 and Thale Myhre of Norway ranked 138 will be the respective No1 seeds in the Boys' and Girls' competition.

Signing-in for the qualifying rounds, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday, for both Boys and Girls, will be held next Friday from 4pm till 6pm.

The Main Draw will start on Monday 20th August. Signing-in for the Main Draw takes place next Sunday between 2pm and 4pm.

Messrs. Benny Vidal and Oswald Tanti are the Director and Referee of the tournament respectively. In charge of Administration and all Office work are Ms.Judith Ricci and Ms.Christine Piscopo.
