Seventeen players from junior and senior categories of the Hibs squad are back from Verona after a seven day visit.

The female national teams of Italy, Holland, Chinese Taipei and Brazil battled in a qualification round for the finals of the World Grand Prix to be held later on this year between the 22nd and the 26th August in China.

A total of six matches were played with the last match being Italy vs Brazil, a close match whom the Italians lost 3-2. Through the contacts established by Hibs and the Verona section of “Federazione Italiana Pallavolo” the Paolites got the opportunity to see all the matches and training sessions.

Hibs also met the female Italian players, a great learning experience for both old and young members of the contingent alike.

Club delegates had meetings with the president of FIPAV Verona together with a number of Italian junior coaches in order to share ideas and volleyball tactics.

Towards the end of their stay, the Paolites also attended the Italian men’s national team training session and got to meet the players for autographs and group photos.
