A 30-year-old man from Buskett was yesterday seriously injured after falling down four storeys into a reservoir, police said.

The man was carrying out maintenance work on the empty reservoir in Buskett when for some reason he fell into it. Members of the Civil, Protection Department brought the man out of the reservoir and he was taken to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified to be in critical condition.

Duty Magistrate M. Mallia was informed about the case and an on-site inquiry is expected to be held today.

Police investigations are still under way.
