Dermot Galea and a couple of team-mates are off to Germany for a training camp in a place near Hamburg.
Galea said he was really looking forward to this camp as he wants to put in some good solid miles on the bike. After the week in Germany the trio will be attending the ITU World Junior Camp which will be held in Hungary.
There, he will act in his capacity as a coach, so his training will take a bit of a back seat for the week. This has been purposely planned as it will be his recovery week after a heavy week in Germany. He said he will still be training but it will only be a couple of hours daily. In between he will be either coaching or probably attending lectures.
B’Kara SJ Triathlon series
Dermot Galea’s next local race will be Race 3 of the Birkirkara St. Joseph Triathlon Series on 2 September. Here, he is looking forward to a sub one hour race!
Training for Ironman Western Australia is going according to plan. He is still looking for some sponsors to help out which is always hard but there are some potential sponsors interested. He is hoping to be able to conclude something by the end of the month.
This week he finalised his programme for the last eight weeks leading up to the big race. He says it’s really tough but he is sure it will work out well.
