Barracudas, Birzebbuga and Valletta, three water polo clubs that in recent years have not participated in the local national league, have got together to organise a triangular tournament.

This tournament is being organised under the auspices of the ASA, who will be providing the referees for all the matches.

The tournament will be played over two rounds, with three matches being held at the Barracudas Sports Club in St Paul's Bay, with the other three being held at the Valletta United Waterpolo Club in Valletta.

The aim behind this tournament is to help revive the clubs of Barracudas, Birzebbuga and Valletta to enable them to make a comeback to ASA national water polo competitions, possibly from next year.

All the three clubs have built their squad for this tournament around a number of their respective former players as well as currently inactive ex-players. They have also included a few youngsters in an effort to ensure continuity in the coming years.

The first match of the tournament is to be played this coming Sunday, 19 August, when Barracudas will be hosting Birzebbuga.

On Tuesday 21 August Valletta play Barracudas at 6.30pm.
