Local pop soprano La Barokka met Akon while the artist was in Malta for the Isle of MTV concert, and said that meeting him and his entire team was a blessing and a great opportunity to discuss her own music with his producers.

Akon’s team is from Atlanta, Georgia, the place where La Barokka launched her latest single A Different Day. Last March, La Barokka was a special guest at a motivational event in Atlanta, where she sang in front of many celebrities in America, including coach Ken Carter.

La Barokka said that she appreciated Akon’s visit to the refugees in the Open Centre at Marsa, an idea that was suggested by the United States ambassador, Molly Bordanaro.

After meeting Akon, La Barokka had time to speak to Akon’s number one DJ, DJ Benny D, who gave her advice about the music business.

After her success in America, La Barokka is producing a very unique album including tracks of classical music mixed with R&B and other genres. Her mission is to convey messages of truth, faith, love and prosperity through her music.

At the moment she is working hard on the album to be released in North America and also on her gala concert at the Hilton on 2 November.
