The University Gozo Centre will be organising its annual summer activity, entitled Woodwinds for Summertime with The Victoria Clarinet Quartet on Saturday, 31 August.

The Victoria Clarinet Quartet was established in January 2004 and the four founding members are Mario Galea (first clarinet), Marvin Grech (second clarinet), Joseph Debrincat (third clarinet), and George Larry Zammit (bass clarinet/fourth clarinet). All four live in Victoria, Gozo.

During the evening, the ensemble will perform music by Gershwin (Summer-time), Rossini (William Tell), Monti (Czardas), Lennon and McCartney (Yesterday), Mancini (The Pink Panther), Pace (L-Imnarja), Elgar (Pomp and Circumstance), Sinatra (My Way) among others.

The concert will also include video features related to the musical pieces being performed. The highly-acclaimed soprano Georgina Gauci will also join the quartet to perform classical and pop music.

The public is invited to attend and those present will be provided with a highly entertaining evening.

The event will take place in the Central Courtyard of the University Gozo Centre and will commence at 8pm. Admission is free but the number of seats is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
