Former Hibernians striker Udo Nwoko, who joined Portuguese side Leixoes Sport Club in the summer, had a very positive debut in the Portuguese Superliga on Saturday as he scored his side’s equlaiser against Benfica after going in as substitute late in the game.
With Benfica leading by Petit’s goal just before normal time, Nwoko hit Leixoes’ equaliser during four minutes of added time to save his side defeat. Nwoko had gone in as a substitute for Jorge Goncalves on 71 minutes and was booked by the referee for taking off his shirt during his scoring celebrations.
