A 42-year-old Egyptian man was yesterday seriously injured after slabs of marble he was transporting fell on him, police said.
The man was inside his van at around 4pm when the accident happened. He was freed by members of the Civil Protection Department and taken to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.
Although the police said he was in critical condition when he arrived in hospital, his condition was later revised to stable.
Police investigations are still under way.
