Taizé Style prayer meetings open to public

Malta Independent Friday, 24 August 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Zghazagh Haddiema Nsara (ZHN) will be holding prayer meetings that follow in the steps of the ecumenical community of Taizé as from 21 September. The prayer meetings will be held every third Friday of the month at 7.30pm in Breathe Chapel at Pietru Floriani Street in Floriana.

ZHN is welcoming everybody to join for prayers and is looking forward to collaborate with any individual or group who would be interested in the preparation of the prayer meetings.

Taizé is a small village in France hosting an international ecumenical community. The place was founded by the late Brother Roger and since the 1950's thousands of youths and adults coming from all over the world have been attracted to the community.

A group of youths from ZHN have turned an old store room in their national centre into a chapel reflecting the simplicity of Taizé'. Now they are ready to take a step further and open their doors to the public, having committed themselves to organise monthly Taizé' prayers meetings to pray and share their experience with anyone who cares to join them.
